It's been nearly two months since my last post. The weather has been horrible. I've still been on walks but haven't been able to take any pictures ot just walked old routes. This one is again from WalkingWorld.com and what a great walk it was. This is the third one from their site. I didn't write about the previous one as we walked it in downpour of rain. One day I will do it again and add pictures for you to see.
This walk starts off from Bix Bottom, by the ruins of Jt Jame's church. It used to be a Norman church that served the local farming community until late 19th century. I think this was the most excitable part of the walk for children. We had to take a closer look and they went inside. It rminded me of an old childhood movie where two young boys were raising wolf cubs in the ruins of an old house, surrounded by nettles.
Shortly after we started our first climb. Children are quite happy to walk on an even ground and run down the hill, but uphill is a struggle. Especially if it's very steep. But the views compensate it all. Unfortunately you can't put it on picture as well as it is in reality. Going down the hill in the forest it was so muddy and slippery that I managed to fall. I was really scared that I will hit the camera lense on ground, but luckily it was just my knee. And trousers that I managed to rip.
Maurice is very keen on picknicks so he took some food with us to share. I had to repack it all cause he put together pieces of chicken, flapjack and mongetout. Victoria seeing that refused to eat it. But when we were half way through she didn't mind any more. And we had a perfect spot for our " lunch" with magnificient views.
The path took us to Pishill church - very nice little village churh. A man was fixing the gate there. We left Summer out to look the inside of the church and when we came back, he had brought Summer some water. How kind was that! Mind you - Summer didn't drink any and was crying after us:)
There were some amazing views, especially after another climb and walking on ridge.
Another exciting thing was that Summer rolled in smth really really disgusting. When we got home I didn't have time to wash her as I had to run to work. Poor thing spent most of her time in crate. But she had a nice shower the next day. Can't wait to get to another walk, but with half the family coughing and rain and wind I don't know if it will happen anytime soon...
