It started from Swyncombe church, which was built in 11th centuary. As soon as we passed the church, we could see the pastures full of sheep with their little babies. Don't think there is anythink cuter than a lamb. One little lamb had managed to get himself out of the fence. We tried to get him back, but had no luck. Then came three farmers and they didn't succeed either.
We even had to cross one of the pastures and two little lambs came running towards us. I don't know, what they were thinking but they sure were cute. Summer was so over excited and didn't know what to do. Then we had to climb our first "hill" in the forest. Maurice found a ladybird and kept dropping it so we had to wait for him, walk, wait again. Eventually we got to the top.
| Can you find the LadyBird? From the top of the hill we could see what's waiting us ahead and it was really beautiful. It is impossible to capture it with the camera, but I did try. |
My children are sitting in front of the school in Ewelme. It must be truely fascinating to go to the school that is so old and full of history. Even the village shop was very nice, not like our corner shop. They had tables outdoors in front of the shop and inside, so you could buy cake and coffeee. There were loads of old fashion sweets on the shelves and the persons behind the till had aprons on. And everything was really clean.
Soon after the church we said goodbye to the civilisation and headed towards the fields and the ridges. First we were greeted by field full of pigs. I have never seen such big pigs. At first it seemed that they are blocking our path and that they don't have any fencing around them.I had to pluck up mu courage to move on and see that it wasn't true. It was also the first time during the walk when I didn't know which way to go - the explanations weren't clear enough. Luckily we were soon joined with our "angel" who led us back to our car. That was one fast angel, especially uphill. Gosh!!!
