Walk in Brimpton

So excited to have my sister back from Norway and Sunshine! And what better to do to go for a long walk. I have to admit that it became a little longer than it said in the book - instead of 6 miles we ended up walking nearly 9.5 miles! For those of you, who know kilometers, that's more than 15 kilometers!!! And I am especially proud of Maurice, who walked it all through with us, only being carried through the muddiest places.
As I said already, we had sunshine and it makes such a difference, especially after those stormy days we've had.
This walk starts off from the main road, but immidately runs between paddocks. Perfect if you have a dog who pulls on the lead -  you can let her off. You then reach to Wasing Wood, which is amazing. Although it's winter, it's full of birdsong as if it was a spring. Last time when I did that walk, we saw a flock of grouse. And for me it was unforgettable as in Estonia they are quite rare to see.
Wasing church
Coming out of the forest you will reach to Wasing with it's church  and  part of modernised castle ruins where one could have a heavenly wedding. As we walked into the church, there were people actually planning it. I have already forgotten how exciting it can be!

Our next destination - Brimpton church
The flies are out already!
Summer is ok around sheep if they don't move, but ofcourse you can'tExpect that from sheep. It should be Summer who doesn't move. Anyway, as soon as they saw the dog approaching they ran and Summer bolted after them. I felt really bad. Luckily she doesn't hurt them, just chasing and came back quite quickly, so I put her on lead. Here are some scared faces of those poor little animals.
Maurice has a crazy aunt who as soon as she saw ponies asked him if he would like to ride on them. He didn't think twice and took off towards them and there was no talking him out of it. My sister was holding him and it only lasted for a second but I guess Maurice will remember it for a while. And please don't try it at home!
Summer saying hello to a pony, after she was chased by it:)
What a nice place to live!
Walk down from Brimpton church
Sound of Robin's song makes it feel like spring
Still life :)
The footpath is flooded - what now?

Over the fence we go - no stopping us!

Little detour to Florida:)
Summer never stopped

Gorse in full bloom, although we didn't have time to admire it much as we were not sure where we were and it was getting dark already.
Water is inevitable

We made it back to the car before the darkness. Very tired, muddy and hungry but very happy. What a great day we all had! I'm only learning how to write the blog, and what to write about. I guess it would be a tad boring if I wrote we turned right, then left etc. As photography is my hobby, I want to tell a storry through my pictures and kind of build a storry around them. I just hope it works:)
