My Birthday Walk

As you can see, it was my birthday today. Best present I got was sunshine. No-one can say no to me today, so the whole family was half forced to come for a walk. As I knew how muddy it is, I took them to a civilised place called Virginia Waters. It's a big park that belongs to Her Majesty. But as it was bank holiday we couldn't get to our usual parking place and drove to Saville's Garden. It's a little garden in the Virgina Waters. We walk quite often in there, so this time we decided to go a different route. Although I have to admit that I took the lead, cause I had walked it just recently with my sister. So - when facing the shops of Saville garden we turned right instead of left as we would usually do. These little paths took us to Windsor Great Park. It's a massive dear park (20km2 or 5000 acers). In 13th century it was Windsor Castle's private hunting ground. There are still deer roaming around freely which is really spectacular. There's also lots of cycists, dog walkers, runners and riders. You could easily spend the whole day there, especially in summer.  The only thing is - it's crowded. That's why in my opinion it's nicer during the winter (although still a lot of people) and then during the summer you could just walk in countryside somewhere. I have ridden there once, which I absolutely loved. You go different secret routes and the wildlife is not scared of you - absolutely fantastic!
But we had a really nice walk too. About half way through we reached a little village shop where we got our refreshments. It's hard to walk with children without refreshments.  The shop is really lovely and has seating area outdoors. The sun was shining, It was only 5 degrees today, but felt really nice in the sun.

Red Kite
There were a lot of red kites flying. At one point we counted 6 of them scaring pigeons in trees. And you can see and hear rose-ringed parakeets. Aparently in 1930-ies they made an indian film and a cagefull of parakeets managed to escape. But they accustomed to the climate and the population is groing bigger and bigger.
Tomorrow it's back to reality again - the working week begins, so I have no idea when can I have my next walk. Hopefully sooner than later.

Esiteks on see koer teil väga armas ja teiseks on huvitav teada saada nendest kohtadest, kus Sa jalutamas käid. Kolmandaks on huvitav lugeda, kuidas sa end väljendad inglise keeles.
