Hoping that you got a glimpse of this walk. I thoroughly enjoyed myself as always. I doubt I'll have a proper blog worthy walk next week as I have to walk, but I hope there will be another one soon. Finishing off with an almost obligatory shot.
Walking is my favourite hobby, especially because you can combine it with my other interests like photography, nature, family, my dog, singing, history - the list could go on endlessly. I hope you find little something for yourself. Wish me luck!

Chaddleworth walk
Lately the subject between me and my children has been horses. Both (and me) love them and have asked for riding lessons for as long as I can remember. But as Victoria was playing violin very seriously, I didn't think it was a good idea in case she falls and breaks her hand or fingers. But now as we know the violin will be only a hobby and not a profession, I have given in. So they will both have riding lessons soon. I might take a lesson or two myself. WIth all that horse business in my mind I don't know if it was a coincidence or subconcious but this week's walk turned out to be around horse racing grounds. Then again I guess there is no place in England where you can not see a horse during the 3 hours you walk around.
I have to say that the spring is fighting it's way through and very soon the winter has to retreat. Almost a month till the clock's go forward and there will be more light!
The weather in winter can be unpredictable. Fortunately there is no bad weather just wrong clothing. We were very lucky cause all these clouds just passed by to a different direction. We got a phone call from a friend who said it was pouring down where he was. And we didn't get a drop!
Wouldn't you want your house to be guarded by these beasts?:) We've done this walk once before and then the footpath went through their field. (There is actually more of them) That was really scary. But now they had seperated the footpath with fencing, so it was nice and safe. Cattle is my biggest worry on walks, especially if I walk alone. I would rather go round miles than through the field with cattle on, especially with Summer.
I just love England's countryside. You don't need to go far to see the beauty of it. I love the hills, although the are hard work to conquer:) The picture doesn't show you very well the dimensions, but we had to walk all the way down to that barn and then up higher than the trees (that's the easiest way to explain:)
Children saw a patch of green grass and asked if they could lay down. How could I say no? I guess they were trying to avoid going up that big hill:)
This is what was waiting ahead of us. Isn't it the same with life sometimes? The future seems really scary and you loose the focus...
...but when you look behind and see that in spite of all the hills there has been sunshine and you have been carried through you will face another storm. And sometimes you'll see that it wasn't a strom at all. All you need is courage to move forward.
Another hill that need to be climbed up. When we walked it last time, Maurice must have been really small. I have no idea how he did it. Now he always has his backpack with water and a sandwich in it. And when dad decides to honour us and comes too you can guarantee Snickers for children. That's all they need to be motivated:)
Maurice is so brave, climbing up another hill. There were loads of red kites flying around. This path went through a little forest and as the wind was really strong all the trees were creaking and rustling. It was really erie. Those buildings you can see is a riding establishment. wouldn't you just love to ride in such surroundings!?!
